
CLIFFORD SANCHEZ, Associate Director, has been an employee of the Wooten Center since 1992, with primary responsibility over all Center educational programs. His duties include overseeing operations ranging from tutoring, volunteers, homework assistance, guidance counseling, field trips and management of the Los Angeles Lakers Community Service Team and Warner Strategic Marketing/Rhino Records. He attended the University of Hawaii as a scholarship student athlete and graduated in 1981 with a bachelor’s degree from the College of Education. A stand-out prep basketball player at Verbum Dei High School in Watts,. California. Then in 1994 played professional basketball in Sao Paulo, Brazil (Rio Claro). Honored by the Los Angeles Dodgers as its 2000 Hometown Hero. Member of Reebok Professional Alliance Program. In April 2003 he was one of 5 finalists for the University of Hawaii Distinguished Alumnus Award. Clifford was interviewed on KKEA Sports Radio Hawaii to be honored as its Accomplished Los Angeles Athletic Alumnus . Mr. Sanchez is featured in it's Alumni Magazine Malamalama September issue 2004 and Nupepa. February, 2006 and November, 2005. Award winner of the 2006 LWC University of Hawaii Kane Fernandez Community Service Award and acknowledged as the Los Angeles Lakers / Defenders 2007 Hero Among us award.
