Dewey Decimal System

Wooten Center Youth Jennifer N Joku using the Dewey Decimal System on researching her knowledge of vocabulary by defining their definitions through Webster Dictionary.

 

For many years the Wooten Center maintained a library with donated books, many of which were not aimed at children of our age group. Now, thanks to a generous grant from the Ella Fitzgerald Foundation we have a selection of books aimed at the appropriate age group as well as an outstanding environment.

The Wooten Center operates two tutorial programs. One, with paid tutors, evaluates children to determine their needs then takes them through a structured curriculum. The other program, with volunteer tutors, tends to aim more at material which builds the Joy of Reading.
