The Wooten Center is comprised of four shop sized bays on the corner of 92nd Street and Western Avenue. In the above diagram that corner is next to the Teen Center Office. Two shops separate the Teen Center from the rest of the Wooten Center.
1. Teen Center - The teen center is aimed at providing a place for Teens and Young Adults to have a safe place to enjoy each other's company and to carry on educational and cultural activities which are tailored to their age group.
2. A special Tutoring Room is set aside for tutoring which is carried on with salaried tutors and which is structured around correcting individual difficulties.
3. Computer Laboratory - For several years the lab was equipped with used computers which had been donated by local companies and refurbished by Center personnel. In late 2002, thanks to a generous grant from the California Consumer Protection Foundation, the computer laboratory was equipped with ten new Dell computers.
4. Homework Room- Grade School children stop in this room, and do their homework before engaging in other Center activities. Volunteers are available to help them with math or any other problem subjects. In addition these volunteer tutors work with the children on reading skills and other subjects of common interest.
5. The Ella Fitzgerald Library has a large selection of books which are adapted to the children's' needs as well as two study tables.
6. An outdoor playground behind the center contains a one basket court a general play area and a garden.
