The Boys To Men program assists young boys in the transition from childhood to manhood through weekly classes that include career guidance, community service, rites of passage and rap sessions. The Books for Boys Program component, founded by the Village Foundation and Books for Boys program, is a reading program for young African-American men that is supplemented by regional and national conferences. Boys must meet specific reading, vocabulary and book-report requirements to attend the conventions, which bring together African-American boys from around the country to meet authors, participate in workshops and meet and network with professionals.

The Wooten Center has a comprehensive tutoring program which is composed of four segments:
The One-on-One Tutorial program, supervised by a qualified instructor and taught by trained tutors, identifies children with reading, writing and math skills below grade level and works to bring them up to grade level or above. This program requires a commitment that the same child will be available to the tutors on a set schedule.
Tutoring by Volunteers. This program is conducted by well educated volunteer tutors. It is less structured than the above program and is designed to function smoothly without any particular child being available on a particular day.
Academic Intern program. This program is conducted in cooperation with outstanding colleges and medical training facilities in the Los Angeles Area. A wide variety of individual programs are carried out which benefit both the child and the student's curriculum.

For 10 years, Rhino Entertainment has sponsored monthly
field trips that have become essential to broadening the minds and aspirations
of our children. Past events have included “Take Our Daughters to Work Day,”
a whale-watching trip, a Catalina Island visit, a Carmel Valley campout and
amusement park trips.
As Wooten youth get older, they are encouraged to give back to the Center. Qualified youths serve in the Teens Teaching Kids (TTK) program tutoring younger children in math and reading and homework assistance. TTK not only helps our younger children improve their skills, but also gives the older youth opportunities to learn leadership skills.
This program is designed to instill girls and boys with a positive knowledge of self. The classes include conflict resolution and mediation; monthly meetings with a leadership mentor to cover social behavior, ethics, cultural values and responsible decision making discussions. It also includes service experiences that integrate students with important hands-on instruction and learning the importance of becoming contributing members of society.
