Linda's Picture LINDA BROADOUS MILES, Executive Director, was the first employee hired by the Center in 1992. Raised in Compton, Calif., Miles earned a bachelor’s degree in radio and television broadcasting at California State University, Northridge. She worked extensively in radio, cable television production and public relations, before turning to charitable organization work in the early 1990s. Linda received several awards for her original cable access productions in the South Bay area. She accrued 17 years executive work experience as public relations director for the Brotherhood Crusade, executive assistant at KFWB Radio, and Office Manager at Group W Cable in Santa Monica and Heritage Cablevision in Compton. Linda is also a professional vocalist and musician. For examples of her work click - HERE
Cliff CLIFFORD SANCHEZ, Associate Director, has been an employee of the center since 1992, with primary responsibility over all Center educational programs. His duties include overseeing operations ranging from tutoring, volunteers, homework assistance, guidance counseling, field trips and management of the Los Angeles Lakers Community Service Team and Warner Strategic Marketing/Rhino Records. He attended the University of Hawaii as a scholarship student athlete and graduated in 1981 with a bachelor’s degree from the College of Education. A stand-out prep basketball player at Verbum Dei High School in Watts,. California. Then in 1994 played professional basketball in Sao Paulo, Brazil (Rio Claro)  Honored by the Los Angeles Dodgers as its 2000 Hometown Hero. Member of  Reebok Professional Alliance Program. In April 2003 he was one of 5 finalists for the University of Hawaii Distinguished Alumnus Award. Clifford was Interviewed on KKEA Sports Radio Hawaii to be honored as it's Accomplished Los Angeles Athletic Alumni and featured in it's Alumni Magazine Malamalama September issue 2004. STEPHEN KING, Computer/Music Instructor, joined the Wooten Center staff in 1999. He studied piano and voice at the University of Southern Colorado, and has many years of experience as a professional musician. Stephen’s computer training skills come from Abram Friedman Occupational Center. As a child, Stephen grew up in many foster homes and brings his “You can do it!” attitude to our Center. Cheryl's Picture CHERYL ASHLEY, our capable Office Manager, was born in Jamaica, but raised on the East Coast in Philadelphia. Cheryl received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in business administration with a marketing specialty from Temple University in 1987.  She has been employed by the Center since 1995. NO LONGER ON STAFF
LAMAR PORTER, Assistant Director of the newly form Teen Center, with major responsibilities of creative, educational and vocational programs to enrich the older young adults. An accomplish former youth member, who was one of the first young boys to participate and support the center at it's early developmental beginnings. Through his gregarious persona Mr. Lamar Porter, has benefited from the center's illustrious programs by setting the example to his peers of determination and success through leadership, education and professional growth are the virtues of outstanding citizenship, respect and experience.
